Finally some great new additions were added to the Half byte Loader. In this new stable revision HBL r93 has a new themed menu as you can see here, (previously made in r92), which in time we will be able to update custom themes for our half byte loader. Also, a lot has changed since r85, for instance you will be able to exit your games and return to the HBL Menu as well as the ability to run some great homebrew like Quake as well as the newly added compatibility to play Counter Strike PSP.

MacroFire version 3.1.0 has been released by Pen at ClassG. This update has some new changes. Users are able to delete their settings easier due to the new settings.ini. Furthermore few updates were made to ID’s: UMD game and PSX.

The launching of the official Dead or Alive: Paradise site confirms that this game will be released soon. We also know the date for this release.

The best part of DoA: Paradise is obviously the pretty and sexy girls. The setting takes place in New Zack Island. This Island is an amazing vacation spot with beautiful views and many  places to spend your time.

PSP Go getting a UMD drive support soon?

Of course there isn’t any official word on this so its still a rumor. Anyways, famous company   Logitech is apparently working on a UMD drive  for the PSP Go. Well If this rumor is true then   PSP GO with a UMD Drive will cost your pocket alot more than a PSP-3000.  I don’t see anyone getting a PSP GO with this add-on since its a lot more efficient to get a regular PSP, costs a lot less too.

Here’s the sources comment on this:

source (singular) claims that Logitech is developing a UMD drive add-on for the PSP Go. The source has neither price nor release information, merely stating that the “only problem is that it’ll make the PSP a little bulky.” Logitech’s UK office told the outlet that it’s unaware of such a device and that it “may be something the US office is working on.” We’ve contacted both Sony and Logitech for more concrete information.

Famous Homebrew coder Mediumgauge  released a new version of PSP Filer. PSP filer is  a handy file management application for the PlayStation Portable. The latest release of the brew includes some new features, a few fixes and various other improvements.

GameMusicGear version 1.4 was released recently. With this application you can play any music file. It supports a large amount of music file types like standard Mp3, to Flac and ac3. On the other hand, it also supports files from older games, like mid and sid for example. All support for various formats can be found in the plug-in folder. You’ll find support for another formats is in the plug-in folder of the archive.

This new version has many new updates and changes which include a hold mode that will improve the battery life.

Fixed:

• Increased priority of audio thread and reduced cpu rate of most plugins. The gui became a little slower but i guess it’s worth it since most plugins works around 122 Mhz now .
• Fixed several bugs in in_psf with some soundtracks: Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, Popolocrois, Brave Fencer Musashi, and some others.  Most soundtracks should play fine now .  If you find a track that doesn´t work please let me know.
• Fixed a bug in in_vgm (in_gme.prx) when loading a compressed vgz file from a subfolder.
• in_psf not properly stopping when changing song.
• Bug in terebi.skin when reaching the bottom of the playlist.

Sony’s also opened a new Minis channel on YouTube, pledging frequent updates of Minis content.

November 1st, was the launched date of Sony PSP Go in Japan. Based off data from Famitsu parent company Enterbrain, PSP go sold 28,275 units on its first day of sales in Japan. 28,000 + PSP Go were sold still are not impressive compared to Nintendo DSi sold 170,000 units back at its launch in November of last year. That was a two day sales period. The last PSP hardware revision, PSP-3000, sold a little over 140,000 in its first four days in October of last year.

In conclusion, I think the PSP Go was a lil bit overpriced because it does the similar features as the PSP-3000, just without the UMD, lighter and smaller.
